Teletouch Communications, Inc. (OTC: TLLE) Hawk Electronics division, a leading cellular services provider and consumer electronics retailer, today announced that its interactive group recently completed adding more than 20,000 products to its primary consumer-facing online websites: www.hawkelectronics.com and www.hawkexpress.com, and will be adding another approximately 300,000 product SKU’s in early 2009. The sites, which are hosted by Teletouch, are supported by a newly completed integrated database architecture and Adobe Systems Incorporated (Nasdaq: ADBE) Adobe® ColdFusion® 8 software-based content management system providing for common product information, but also allowing for product and pricing differentiation between the two online brands. Completed just in time for the holiday shopping season, the updated HawkElectronics.com kicked off its new look with a special offer on a high-end GPS device, the Delphi NAV300, selling through nearly 1,000 units in its first few days online.
Teletouch President and Chief Operating Officer, T. A. “Kip” Hyde, Jr. stated, “By leveraging our existing PCI Wholesale division distribution relationships, we now have the ability to offer our customers a vastly larger catalogue of consumer electronics products than ever before. Our prices online are generally competitive to big-box retail, with the added advantage of allowing our Hawk Electronics’ customers a unique ‘Bill-To-Mobile’ feature, whereby purchases can be billed to their Hawk cellular accounts, with monthly payments at no interest over three, six or twelve month periods. Our HawkExpress web store already has a national footprint. We look forward to further growth for both Hawk Electronics and Hawk Express from the online distribution channel.”
With 23 company-owned and authorized Hawk-agent locations in Dallas-Fort Worth, San Antonio, Central and East Texas, Hawk Electronics is a leading independent provider of AT&T cellular, Teletouch Two-Way services and related products in the region. For over 35 years, Hawk has been the brand name that Texans trust, providing turn-key electronics and communications solutions to consumers, businesses and government agencies.
